The Grade 5 Science Performance Task doesn't test memory. It gives children a real situation, such as a shed that's too hot, a pond near a new factory or a tomato garden. Then it asks them to think and work like scientists.
This course teaches exactly those skills, one at a time:
- Asking questions a test can answer
- Using models and diagrams
- Planning a fair test
- Reading tables and graphs
- Predicting from a pattern
- Explaining why things happen
- Backing up answers with evidence
- Sharing results clearly
- Working with the numbers
Each skill has short interactive notes and a step-by-step lesson built around a real past-task investigation. Children also carry out on-screen experiments. They pull back a toy car, let it go, measure how far it travels and record their own results, from the problem to the conclusion.
Every answer comes with clear feedback that explains why. Written in short, simple sentences for 10-year-olds, and built on the National Standards Curriculum.
